THE PROJECT

What I was asked to do.

A forty-year-old, well established property in Blairgowrie. Grown in, and due for a complete reset rather than a tidy-up.

Garden design for an entire garden revamp for a 40 year old well established property in Blairgowrie, Victoria.

This project was commissioned during my last year of my post graduate certificate of garden design. I was selected by the Australian Academy Of Garden Design to put my new skills into practice in a “real world” scenario.

The brief was to create a low maintenance, Mediterranean style, “5 star resort” incorporating a pool/spa, BBQ area, decking and fire pit with an abundance of olive trees and a selection of local native plants.

WHAT THE CLIENT RECEIVED

Every garden I design is documented like a working project, not a sketch. This is the set that was handed over.

Concept drawing

The layout resolved: zones, movement and the main design decisions, in one clear direction.

Mood board

Materials, finishes and planting references for every element.

Working plans

Every bed, path, level and material set out to scale, ready for a landscaper to price and build from.

Elevation drawings

The key areas drawn at eye level, so you see them before they are built.

Lighting plan

Where the light goes, worked out before anything is wired in.
